Barnabas Kiiza (PhD)

B.Sc: Agriculture (Agricultural Economics Major), 1990. Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda
Dr. Kiiza has 28 years of research experience in Qualitative and Quantitative Methods in Economic Analysis in the areas of Rural Finance, Agricultural Marketing, Production Economics, International Agricultural Trade, Economic Growth and Development. He is well versed in Cross-sectional, Time Series and Panel Data Econometric Methods. He is also well versed in Quasi-Experimental Methods (Propensity Score Matching, Difference-in-Differences, Instrumental Variable Estimation, Regression Discontinuity) for Project and Program Impact Evaluation. He has 28 years of experience in conducting Household Baseline Surveys, Mid-term and End of program Evaluation Surveys and conducting Market Research studies. He is well versed in Econometric and Statistical Analysis using STATA, EVIEWS, LINDEP, and SPSS software. Dr. Kiiza has been a Principal Investigator (Team Leader) on various research and consultancy projects since 1993 funded by USAID, World Bank, NORAD, DANIDA, FAO, Rockefeller Foundation and Government of Uganda. He is a member of the Uganda Evaluation Association and the Uganda Economics Association.
George Omiat (PhD)
PhD: Agricultural Economics, Purdue University, USA, May 2017. (Dissertation Title: Economic Development, Agricultural Markets, and Child Nutrition in Uganda).
M.Sc: Agricultural Economics, Makerere University, Uganda, 2003. (Thesis Title: Private Agricultural Input Market Distribution in Rural Eastern Uganda).
B.Sc: Agriculture (Agricultural Economics Major), Makerere University, Uganda, October 2000.
Dr. Omiat has excellent skills in Advanced Econometric and Statistical Methods using Cross-section data methods. He is well versed with software that includes STATA, R, Matlab, GAUSS, EVIEWS, SHAZAM, GAMS, MS Excel-Solver, LINDO, and SPSS. He has excellent knowledge in database management programs like CSPro and Microsoft Access.
He has participated in various research projects in agricultural commodity markets among the poor and marginalized in Uganda. He has been involved in very many Baseline, Mid-term and End of Program Surveys. He is a member of the African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE).
